Annual Seminar

The Professional Liability Defense Federation 2011 Annual Meeting and CLE Presentation to be held at The Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago on September 22-23 will feature 13 speakers on the following topics: a primer on legal malpractice, analysis of the tripartite relationship among defense counsel, insured, and insurer (and ethical issues presented), jury selection in professional liability cases, needs and expectations of claims management in the defense of malpractice cases, construction design E&O, actuarial malpractice, the causation defense in medical malpractice, legal malpractice liability to non-clients, nursing home/LTC/ALF claims, professional liability coverage updates, the new tort of cyber liability, and insurance agent/broker E&O claims and defenses. The seminar will also feature time for PLDF committees to meet and plan for programming and article initiatives. After hours, don’t miss the member and guest social hour and dinner to be held on Thursday evening.
PLDF staff will submit the seminar information to state continuing legal education agencies for content and credit approval (for those jurisdictions that require CLE reporting) as attendee registrations occur. We expect to receive several approvals in advance of the seminar and of course will follow up afterwards to complete the CLE compliance process. We intend also to seek an ethics credit for this presentation. We believe that the substantive content offered by this seminar at the cost stated provides the best value available in the professional liability CLE marketplace.
